Dr. Leigh Silverton is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing in the West Los Angeles for over 25 years. A clinical faculty member at the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and the Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine, she completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southern California and her internship at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical school where she was appointed Instructor in psychiatry. She has published many articles on emotional disorders and their assessment.

Past chair of the Southern California Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration, she employs a multimodal theoretical framework in treating patient. A diagnostician and psychotherapist, she specializes in treating trauma of all types and sexual trauma in particular. An early proponent addressing early sexual abuse in in young women, Dr. Silverton devotes a percentage of time to treatment of victims of sexual trauma.
